Adorior was spawned of slut and abattoir semen in the festering pits of the United Kingdom in the year 1994. The demo ‘Beyond the Distant Blue’ was released in 1996 and the band were quickly signed to Norway’s Head Not Found records. Adorior then excreted the debut album ‘Like Cutting the Sleeping’ (1998).

Watain, a Swedish Black Metal band, was formed in Uppsala in 1998. The name is taken from a recording by the American black metal group Von. Their first release was the 7” EP The Essence of Black Purity on Swedish Grimrune productions, recorded in Necromorbus Studios 1999. The French black metal label Drakkar Productions offered Watain a deal for two full length albums, and the debut album Rabid Death’s Curse was released in 2000. After the release, Watain toured and performed alongside bands such as Rotting Christ, Antaeus, Dark Funeral, Malign etc.

Aiumeen Basoa was founded in 1994 with the following members: Egoitz (bass, manuals), Beleak (guitar, voice), Mikelot (guitar, voice), and Belainotz (drums). Later joined the band Paul (wind instruments), Herio (key board), Ibone (voice), and Aitor (violin). Aiumeen Basoa gives importance to the mythology of its land, Euskal Herria (Basque Country), which is full of legends such the ones dealing the Akelarres or with the burning of the so-called witches in bonfires. It all influences both the lyrics and musical direction of the band.

The band was formed in 2003 and after just a year, the first album, “Truth Inside the Shades”, was recorded. Carlos Lozano (Guitar and vocals), Miguel Espinosa (Keyboards and vocals), Jordi Gorgues (guitar) and Toni Mestre (bass) parting from Death metal, through progressive passages and even acoustics, demonstrated to have a great musicality. Bands like Opeth, Borknagar, Arcturus, Symphony X or Cacophony are all a reference for this album.

Apreciación: Disco descubierto hace unos años a través de una compilación de MetalStorm. En su día me sorprendió que el que probablemente era el mejor grupo de MDM "del país" fuese andorrano. Gran calidad en este primer disco y un gran sonido que a lo largo de sus siguientes álbumes ha ido evolucionando. Sin duda, una banda recomendada. Sobre todo para los españoles (y andorranos).

Sotajumala was founded in 1998 by T. Otsala and K. Orbinski. To the final shape it formed in the year 2000 when J. Häkkinen, A. Romo, P. Lapio and H. Lastu joined to the band. The first promo-CD was recorded in two days, in the Sundicoop studio, Savonlinna by Tuomo Valtonen at 16th-17th September 2001. At the time the line-up consisted three guitarists, but after some discussions about musical interests P. Lapio decided to leave the band. Today Sotajumala creates their music as a five member band, however still composing the new material to be played on three guitars.

Apreciación: Me ha parecido un muy buen disco de Death Metal. Estos finlandeses saben como tocar Death Metal. A ratos recordando a Hail of Bullets (más bien Hail of Bullets recuerdan a estos xD). Se deja escuchar. Podría ser uno de los discos del año en su género.
