THUNDRA was formed as a project between Harald (ex- Enslaved), Stein (ex-Einherjer) and Nils (synth) in 1998. When Harald and Stein left their former bands, THUNDRA recruited Rune (on guitar), Steven (on vocals) and Thor Erik (guitar and vocals) to complete the band.
THUNDRA released the well-reviewed album "Blood of your soul" on Spinefarm records in 2000. In 2003 they left Spinefarm and start working on new songs and a new sound in general. During 2003 they recorded a 3-track demo at their own Black Dimension Studio produced\engineered\mixed and mastered by Stein Sund.

Malnàtt - Happy Days

The Italian folk black metal band Malnàtt sees itself rather a "Musical Mystical Order" than just a music band and takes inspiration from the Order of the Templar Knights in the sense of an organized group to achieve an only scope, can be called also Schism or Masonic Lodge. Mystical is the attitude of those belonging to the order: always loyal to the union with the divinity. Musical is the shape in which Malnatt has chosen to express themselves.
"Malnàtt" is a word in a Italian dialect that means "dirt".

Warmen - Beyond Abilities

Warmen is a Finnish progressive metal/neo-classical metal band assembled by keyboard player Janne Viljami Wirman - also known as Warman. Janne has been playing with Children of Bodom since 1997, and on the year of 2000 created a musical project focused on instrumental work, which would only have guest singers on a few selected songs. The first incarnation of Warmen was composed of Janne, guitarist Sami Virtanen and drummer Mirka Rantanen. This line-up successfully recorded and released the Unknown Soldier album in the same year of the band's formation, with the collaboration of guest singer Kimberly Goss (from Sinergy), guitarist Roope Latvala (also from Sinergy) and bassist Jari Kainulainen (from Stratovarius).On the following year, the band saw the addition of Lauri Porra (from Sinergy) and Janne's guitarist brother, Antti Wirman (from Kotipelto). This line-up proceeded to record on the Warmen Productions Studio (now name Beyond Abilities) the album Beyond Abilities, a speed metal album that received critical appraisal. With a more presence and diversity in the vocals, this album made use of the talent of Timo Kotipelto (from Stratovarius), Pasi Nykänen (from Throne of Chaos) and returning vocalist Kimberly Goss.Their third album, Accept the Fact was released in June of 2005.Warmen have released 3 albums so far: 'Unknown Soldier' in 2001 and 'Beyond Abilities' in 2002. The band went quiet for a couple of years due to Janne's commitment to Children of Bodom, but then in 2005 they returned with 'Accept The Fact' featuring the cover of 'Somebody's Watching Me' with Alexi Lahio on vocals. Cruachan - The Middle Kingdom

Cruachan was the capital of the old Irish kingdom of Connacht.Formed as a result of the disbandment of a previous band called 'Minas Tirith´
Cruachan has since been acclaimed as having "gone the greatest lengths of anyone in their attempts to expand" the genre of folk metal.With a specific focus on Celtic music and the use of Celtic mythology in their lyrics, Cruachan's style of folk metal is known today as Celtic metal.
Originally this band combine black metal with the folk metal of Ireland,after the band had dropped the black metal style in favor of a more traditional metal sound.

Ensiferum - Dragonheads

Dragonheads is an EP by the Finnish viking / folk metal Ensiferum. It was released on February 15, 2006 by Spinefarm Records. It is the first Ensiferum release featuring the new members Petri Lindroos, Sami Hinkka and Janne Parviainen. Mastered at Finnvox Studios. Warrior's Quest and White Storm are the re-recordings of songs from the band's second demo. Finnish Medley is a medley of the Finnish traditional pieces Karjalan Kunnailla, Myrskyluodon Maija, and Metsämiehen Laulu.

Belenos - Chemins de Souffrance

Moonsorrow - Kivenkantaja

Moonsorrow,They are known for their extremely long songs and epic, organic composition. The band call their sound "Epic heathen metal" and try to distance themselves from the term "Viking metal" as much as possible, due to their lyrics not concerning Vikings. Their lyrics are heavily based on Finnish and Scandinavian traditions, legends and poetry, even though they are written in Finnish. A good example is the song Sankaritarina, which features lyrics directly translated from the Havamal.

Kivenkantaja (Stonebearer) is the third full-length album by Finnish folk metal band Moonsorrow. It was released on May 10, 2003 through Spinefarm Records.

Absu - The Sun of Tiphareth

Absu started in 1990 in Texas, the US. Their musical style started with death metal but it soon evolved to black/thrash metal. Their lyrical content is mostly Celtic and Sumerian/Mesopotamian mythology. Proscriptor (vocals/drums) is, after the departure of both founding members Shaftiel (1991-2002) and Equitant Ifernain (1991-2002), the mastermind behind the band.

With the album 'Tara', the band has completed a trilogy in which the first part is 'The Third Storm of Cythraul' and part two being 'In the Eyes of Ioldanach'. It is based on old Celtic mythology.

Numen - Basoaren Semeak

Originally formed in 1997, Numen is an extreme music band coming from the Basque Country. They play black metal with some influences of the folk and traditional music of their land. All lyrics are written in euskera, their mother tongue, and they tell about old traditions, legends and mythology, always with a strong feeling against Christianity.
By late 1999 they record the first studio MCD "Haize sorginduen intziriak" with 5 black metal tracks. In 2001 Numen release their first full lenght CD "Galdutako itxaropenaren eresia", a more extreme recording based on Basque legends and history, as well as its dark and magic mythology.

In 1995 – Ank, a prominent vocalist-guitarist of several underground bands decided to form his own band, in order to have the perfect channel for making the music closest to his soul.

Soon Tharaphita developed it’s own unique style, a mixture of black and heavy metal refreshed by folk and ethnic music and pagan way of thinking. During the years the style has somewhat changed, but it’s nucleus has remained the same.

Rhapsody - Legendary tales

Legenday tales,is, according to the band's official web page, the first album by Rhapsody, released in 1997. It marks the beginning of the Emerald Sword Saga.
They arrive strongly in the musical scene with this first disc in 1997, and literally there conquered the musical planet, their epic, orchestral touches (hollywood metal),their lyrics.., all the magazines without exception qualified this album as the best in a lot of time and with 10 on 10. To emphasize the influence of the history, musicality, bases of classic music, and orchestral.
Almost with complete certainty we are before the best epic band.
Actually Rhapsody change their name by "Rhapsody of Fire".

Gorgoroth - Antichrist

Gorgoroth, meaning "land of great despair," is a black metal band, named after the dark plains of Mordor in J.R.R.Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. Led by guitarist Infernus (a.k.a. Roger Tiegs), it emerged in 1992 as a trio including vocalist Hat (‘Hate’ in Norwegian) and drummer Goat Pervertor. Having scaled the rankings in the latter part of the genre's evolution, Gorgoroth is probably the only major Norwegian contender to still provoke establishment outrage by way of the outlandish exploits of the unit onstage and singer Gaahl’s frequent brushes with the law.

Myrkgrav - Trollskau, Skrømt og Kølabrenning

Recomendation. Myrkgrav is a one-man band from Norway. The only real member is Lars Jensen, and he plays most of the instruments himself (including guitars, drums, keys and bass). He also handles the unclean vocals himself. He writes all lyrics, music and arrangements for the band. He records most of his music in his own "Koia Studios".

Y siguiendo con la tandadita de grandes grupos italianos aqui va otro mas, ya nadie pensara que no hay buen metal en Italia, por lo menos mejor que lo que tenemos aqui. Novembre tienen un sonido realmente bello mezclado con grandes letras sobre sueños, amor, temas profundos... For Domine.

Novembre is a band from Rome, Italy. Their music consists of gothic/progressive/doom/death metal elements. Novembre was formed in 1990, under the name of Catacomb. Novembre is lyrically themed towards dreams, nature, personal struggles and landscapes. Novembre is currently signed to Peaceville Records.

They have made a solid impression upon both the death metal and atmospheric metal scenes with equally strong results. Ever since their inception, word about the group has spread among the underground scene on a worldwide basis.

Hate - Morphosis

Su anterior album, "Anaclasis", ya demostró que Hate eran una banda experimentada y valiente de Death Metal, que descargan un material ciertamente innovador y memorable aunque sin buscar la indigestión musical para el oyente. Quiza por ello "Morphosis" suene mas fresco y directo que su disco anterior. Es Death Metal puro, con una búsqueda constante de nuevas técnicas y formatos musicales, con una intensidad muy peculiar. Un gran descubrimiento!!

Recommended. Thanks to Valfar from Svart Kveld (visit his Pagan Blog) for let me to discover this great band.
This is their first work, absolutely recommended, Italian bands are maybe the best of southern europe other exameples are Stormlord and Draugr, this band goes in this line.
