The Ruins of Beverast is a German black metal project from Aachen, Germany created by ex-Nagelfar drummer Alexander von Meilenwald in 2003. The musical style showcases a unique approach to creating complex, atmospheric black metal by combining traditional sounds with more unconventional elements. Lengthy compositions featuring an array of atmospheric and hypnotic components and the use of a variety of extreme vocals and choral singing define the style of this project. Recent material also features substantial influence from the funeral doom metal genre.

Like most other funeral doom metal bands, their music is very slow and dreary, reminiscent of a funeral march. Almost all of Tyranny’s songs are of epic length - well over 10 minutes each.

Evoken is a funeral doom metal band from Lyndhurst, New Jersey, USA, which is highly inspired by the Australian band diSEMBOWELMENT. The band was founded by guitarist Nick Orlando and bassist Rob Robichaud under the name Funereus in April of 1992 and renamed to Evoken in 1994.

Denmark's ubiquitous Nortt is a reclusive vocalist and multi-instrumentalist specializing in what critics have labeled "depressive black funeral doom,". Beginning his experiments in 1995, Nortt has recorded a number of demos (97's "Nattetale," 98's "Doeden," 99's "Graven") and official releases, most of them short-form singles and EPs like 2002's Hedengang and 2003's Gudsforladt. That same year saw a compilation of his scattered works unleashed as Mournful Monuments 1998-2002, but that's about as big a picture as we're likely to see of this intentionally obscure artist.
