Merrimack is a French black metal band. Merrimacks demos have been drifting around in the underground BM scene for several years now garnering a cult following. Their first demo “Act1” was released in 1995. Merrimack was the first black metal band to play in Paris (1996 with Necromass and Dark Funeral). Rather than focus on mythology, Merrimacks members have elected to place a strong focus on the occult and the philosophical aspects of the black arts including an extremely religious approach to Satanism.

It was time of the autumn moon in the year 2003 in Raahe Finland when Ojalehto and Ahola got the idea of founding a folk metal band to awake something old that was forgotten and honour the nature in our way. We started to make songs and write lyrics for this band. Soon we made up the name “Vigrid” that represents to us the oldtimes when our ancestors were part of the nature and believed that each man chooses his own paths to walk . So we decided to make a demo in our own amateur studio called “Gjaller”. After two months of work we had accomplished our first demo in December and it was named “Anxious Soul”.

Katatonia formed in 1991 in Stockholm, Sweden and was brought together by long time friends, Anders Nyström (aka Blakkheim) and Jonas Renkse (aka Lord Seth). After more than a year of rehearsals and composing, the first real fruits of their labour came to light in mid 1992 with the release of the demo ‘Jhva Elohim Meth’, recorded at Sweden’s Gorysound Studio and produced by the multi-musician Dan Swanö. The demo sold out immediately, bringing Katatonia to the attention of Dutch label Vic Records, who went on to re-release the demo as a mini CD, titled ‘Jhva Elohim Meth – the Revival’.
