ROTTING CHRIST is a Melodic Black Metal band formed in 1987 with the original line-up Sakis (vocals, guitar), Jim (bass), Themis (drums) incorporating a roaring mixture of death metal and grind (a style that was at its height in the rest of the world at that time except, of course, Greece). Early on ROTTING CHRIST produced two informal recordings (“Decline’s Return” and ‘Leprosy Of Death”) which basically consist of rehearsals and are not considered official by the band.

Barren Earth is a Finnish progressive death metal band with a line-up consisting of former members of Amorphis as well as current members of Swallow the Sun, Moonsorrow, Rytmihäiriö and Kreator. The music of Barren Earth combines elements of modern and traditional death metal with 70’s prog rock and folk. Among the bands influences are artists such as Amorphis, Dan Swanö, Opeth, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull and also some pioneers of Finnish prog.

Moonsorrow is a Folk Metal band formed in Helsinki, Finland in 1995. The group’s earliest formation consisted of cousins Ville Sorvali (vocals and bass) and Henri Sorvali (guitar and keyboards) who released various demos that were much more characteristic as being symphonic black metal, musically, than future releases.

The concept of the band Kathaarsys started 2002, it comes from the black abyss where endless hardship dwells, a concept born out of a feeling of disappointment, out of the painful spirit buried in defeat, out of being bound to observe the outcomes of the eternal frustration of our soul.
The band became well known in 2005 when they published their first album “Portrait of Wind and Sorrow”, which has captured the intimate and, so far, lethargic meaning of the group. The reaction to their work has been highly positive all over the countries where it has been distributed.

1349 is a black metal band named after the year that The Plague arrived in Norway. 1349 rose from the ashes of Alvheim in 1997 in Norway with Ravn on vocals & drums, Tjalve on guitars, Seidemann on bass and Balfori on guitars. They recorded but never released a demo in early 1998, and Balfori quit shortly after due to musical differences.

In early 1999 they re-recorded the never released promo Chaos Preferred. Then, the band realized they needed another guitarist, and found Archaon whose speed and technique took their music to a new level of intensity and brutality.

This one is for Natalie. ^^

GWYDION started to take shape back at 1995, when three classmates (Daniel, Rúben and Gonçalo) plus Daniel's brother Vitor, found that they shared the same interest for music and had some basic experience with some kind of instrument (or vocals) and the will to form a band. All but Gonçalo were metal addicted with similar tastes, so it was natural that after some time, things started to heat up.

Those of you who have heard Depressor's album 'Everlasting Search' might remember song titles 'Homework Ain't Gonna Write Itself You Know' and 'My Playstation Passed Away'. Titles of those 2 songs actually caused reactions on MetalArea forums where people were complaining about this release being classified as atmospheric black metal. User InSilence suggested that one of next songs should be titled 'The Dreaded Red Rings Ov Death' and on this release there is song with that title. I hope you'll enjoy them all.
