There were too many great albums, so we needed to pick the best for creating this. Hoest is the creative force of the band; vocals & all instruments.

The band was formerly known as Thule (1993-1995); Høst then changed the name to Taake (the Norwegian word for "fog") in 1995 because he wanted the name to reflect the genuine Norwegian spirit of his music and lyrics. It is also a patriotic tribute to the fog that surrounds the seven mountains at his hometown Bergen. "Høst" itself means "Autumn" in Norwegian, referred to Høst's season of birth.

Vendigeit is a project mentioned by Høst in interviews, about which very little is known.

Høst was imprisoned in 2006 for unknown reasons. His label Dark Essence Records reported that the prison sentence was only a few months.C. Corax (guitars on Doedskvad and Bjoergvin) has also been imprisoned, though for a longer prison sentence.

There is a reason why Høst prefers his name spelled with an "oe" and not an "ø". It is because he does not want to use the three letters æ,ø, and å. This is a part of the whole Taake package.

Nothgard was founded in 2008 by Dom and Toni. After a few months of jam sessions, they started to work on their own songs. Of course there was an indispensable need for a bassist and rhythm guitar. Viktor joined the band as man responsible for the pressure. Isochronicly with Chris (rhythm guitar), Lena became member of the band, giving the songs a symphonic touch by playing the keys.

Аркона (Arkona) is a Slavic folk metal band from Dolgoprudnyy, Russia, founded in 2002. In 2003 the band recorded their first demo at CDM-RECORDS studio: Rus’. In summer 2003 the band broke up and Masha formed a new collective boasting members from Rossomahaar and Butterfly Temple. With this line-up (and Lesiar as guest musician) the band released three albums. Masha remains the heart of the project, being responsible for the music, vocals (including grunting) and lyrics.

ChthoniC’s melodies can be characterized as extreme metal with a central inspiration and folklore coming from the black metal movement. ChthoniC uses the traditional Chinese stringed instrument, Er- hu, which can be compared to an eastern violin. The sound of the Er-hu is one of grief and sorrow, which ChthoniC accompanies with heavy drums, guitar strings blending into a harmony.

Dornenreich is a Melodic Black Metal band from Tyrol, Austria. The name means realm of thorns (noun) or full of thorns (adjective) in German. Founded in 1996, the band has progressed in style from black metal on their first album, Nicht um zu sterben, to what the band describes as “a vision beyond (black) metal, neofolk and ambient” on their latest works.

Draconian is a Swedish gothic doom metal band, formed in Säffle, Sweden in 1994. The band consists of Anders Jacobsson (vocals, writing), Lisa Johansson (vocals), Johan Ericson (guitars, writing), Jerry Torstensson (drums, percussion), Daniel Arvidsson (guitars), Fredrik Johansson (bass), and Andreas Karlsson (keyboards, programming). They produce songs with atmospheric, melodic, and emotive characteristics.
